Al Kline DPM

Albert ‘Al’ C. Kline, DPM was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 1961 and immigrated to the United States as a boy in 1967.  He took up an early interest in medicine at the age of 13 volunteering many hours for local hospitals in Corpus Christi, Texas.  He graduated from W.B. Ray High School of Corpus Christi in 1980.

Dr. Kline completed his undergraduate studies with a Bachelors degree in Chemistry from Texas A&M University with a minor in Biology. He also holds an associate degree in Health Science Education.   He received his Doctorate degree from Temple University of Philadelphia (formerly the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine) graduating in 1992. He completed residency training in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery from John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas in 1994.

Dr. Al Kline specializes in reconstructive foot surgery, sports medicine, sports injuries, diabetic foot care, limb salvage, infectious disease, dermatological disorders of the foot, arthritic conditions of the foot and all aspects of foot care. He has been recognized for his work in the area of reconstructive foot surgery. 

Dr. Kline has authored over 30 articles and is creator of Podiatry Internet Communications (PICOMM).  PICOMM is an internet project started in 2006 to help distribute general and scholarly podiatry information through the internet.  His other internet projects include The Foot Blog and The Foot and  Ankle Online  Journal.  He is also publisher of The Journal of Diabetic Foot Complications.  Dr. Kline has also been a special invite member of the Professional Section of the American Diabetes Associates and listed in the Who’s Who section of Diabetes Treatment, Education & Research.

Dr. Al Kline has been active in the area of sports medicine serving as medical personnel in the National Track and Field Championships. Dr. Kline was an avid runner competing in two Marathons and numerous other road races .  After turning 40, Dr. Al Kline no longer competes in races, but still enjoys an occasional run. Dr. Kline now enjoys playing golf . He often travels and plays local and out of town golf tournaments.

Dr. Kline founded Podiatry Associates of Corpus Christi in 1994.  He is now in private practice.  He serves as podiatry staff to Corpus Christi Medical Center, Christus Spohn Health Systems and is partnered with United Surgical Partners and Corpus Christi Surgery Center of South Texas.  He is married with four children.

Joann Kline DPM

Joann Kline DPM was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania in 1966.  She graduated from Cardinal Brennan High School in 1984.  Her undergraduate studies included a Bachelors degree in Biology from Scranton University.  She holds her Doctorate degree from Temple University of Philadelphia (formerly the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine) graduating in 1992.

Dr. Joann Kline specializes in pediatric and geriatric foot care.  She now holds positions as staff podiatrist for numerous nursing homes and care facilities in South Texas. 

Joann enjoys aerobics and is active in the area of sports medicine.  She frequently gives local lectures on geriatric care and the importance of wearing proper shoes.  She is also busy raising her four children at home.
